The TallySoft development team is currently working on the next generation of our retail management software, TallySales Version 5.  Version 5 is the most ambitious TallySoft project to date, requiring a complete rewrite in Microsoft .NET and including such notable enhancements as ‘real time’ data updates and a custom report designer.  Current TallySales users will discover the same ‘ease of use’ to which they have become accustomed in previous versions, but will enjoy the added benefit of a customizable Microsoft Office 2007-compliant interface and many additional tools that provide greater efficiency and flexibility.

“There certainly are ‘shortcuts’ that could have been taken to migrate to the latest Microsoft development technologies in a shorter amount of time,” said John Gielarowski, TallySoft President.  “But providing customers with the most stable and robust product possible meant rewriting the product from scratch.”

Customers have been the driving force behind improvements to the TallySales product line over the years and Version 5 is no exception.  Many of the enhancements users will enjoy are a direct result of customer requests, such as an improved accounting interface.  After all, who better to guide our development team in this area than the users that work with the software in a retail environment on a daily basis?  Other customer-driven enhancements include comprehensive user security management and the integration of special orders into the purchasing process.

TallySoft has also taken this opportunity to simplify our pricing structure and product lines, offering a TallySales Basic edition for merchants with simpler retailing operations and TallySales Pro for businesses with more demanding feature requirements.  TallySales add-in’s, such as TallySales gift card management, have also been streamlined so that many that were previously at an additional cost are now included in our standard software, providing greater savings to our customers.
