The TallySales™ register is the core of the system.  As any retailer knows, the cash register pumps the lifeblood of the operation.  The most important information in the retail process passes through the register location.  Sales, inventory, customer, and employee information are all available at the register.  TallySales is designed to make it fast and easy to accurately gather the relevant information in a sale.  The TallySales register is designed to use touch screen technology for superior speed and flexibility in addition to the standard interfaces, such as a barcode reader, keyboard, and mouse.

How The Cash Register Works
The Cash Registers are standalone machines, which means they are not server based or network dependent.  If something happens to the server, you will still be able to sell and all sales, customer, and inventory information will be updated automatically as soon as the server is brought back on to the network.  Each register is independent of the other, but all information is shared within seconds between the registers.  For example, if a customer pays for their goods on one register, then realizes as they are leaving the store that one of the items wasn't discounted as stated, any register will hold that customer and sale information and the mistake can be easily fixed.

SpeedKeys
SpeedKeys allow quick and easy one touch product entry.  They have a distinct advantage in selling items that have varying components such as Packages, or repetitive items.  Grouped into sets of 27, SpeedKeys can have 27 different SpeedKey Sets, giving you up to 729 different product selections within two keystrokes.

Tendering the Sale
Completing a sale is very simple.  The cashier selects the Settle or Layaway function and TallySales will walk you through the rest of the transaction.

Settle
TallySales will accept and track multiple forms of tender per sale (and multiple forms of currency).  The system continually tracks the amount due to help avoid any mistakes by the cashier.  Merchandise Credit and Gift Certificates are serialized when they are created for tracking and can be tendered at any store location.  Integrated credit card processing increases speed and accuracy of your credit card transactions.

Layaway
The Layaway function operates in the same manner as Settle.  Layaways are created by adding the customer information to the sale and then selecting Layaway instead of Settle.  Recalling a Layaway is simple.  Select the customer and touch the Layaway button.  TallySales will bring up the balance due, customer's payment history and allow payment on the Layaway, all from the main screen.

Special Orders
Don't carry a product that a customer wants?  Create a Special Order at the register.  Creation of Special Orders is a quick and easy process.  Simply choose a customer and select the Special Order button.  Enter the pertinent information and take a deposit.  Information is then transfered to the back office manager(s) and the order is ready to be sent to the Vendor for processing.  Special Orders can be combined on the same sale with the other products that the customer is purchasing.

Customer Quotes
TallySales provides the means to creating a Customer Quote.  If a customer comes into the store and needs pricing information on an item(s), simply choose the customer, add the items to the quote and select the Customer Quote button.  At any time you can recall the Customer Quote, add promotions or discounts, and complete the sale.

TallyCards
TallySales provides you with the opportunity to incorporate Gift, Merchandise Credit, Membership, and Cashier cards into your daily business, while incurring no third party fees for use.  All cards are reusable, feature your company logo(s), and can act as a free marketing/advertisement tool when taken out of the store.  Membership cards are a fast and efficient way of attaching a customer to a sale.  Simply swipe the card and any applicable discounts set up under the membership will automatically apply.

Trade-Ins
The TallySales Trade-in program is a terrific way to not only accept a trade-in from a customer, but to also get that product into inventory in one simple step during the time of sale.  If time does not permit, You can also place trade-in items into inventory in the back office at a later time.
